STRESS

John 5:30 - By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

If anyone was under constant stress it was Jesus.  People were constantly hot on his tail wanting healing, teaching, and much much more.  At times they tried to trap Him, other times kill Him.  However, if you look at His life, it never seemed to bother Him or stress Him out.  He never was in a hurry, panicked, or frazzled.  In fact it was the opposite, He always seemed to be a peace.  

Wow, don't know about you, but I would love to learn how to do that.  Well how about some words of wisdom?

  We need to know who we are.  Others all around us will try to make us something we are not.  Family, friends, peers, and most of all the culture we live in.  If we do not know who God made us to be, we will have an identity issue and be stressed out.

Jesus know who He was.  Remember these phrases?  I am the truth, I am the bread of life, I am the door. 

When we do not know who we are we are measuring ourselves and comparing with someone or something else. 

However, God made you and me to be us.  Each of us have our unique characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses.  Once He made us as it has been said, He broke the mold. 

No, well, we all have a unique, thumbprint, footprint, eyes, voice, and more.  Only A.I makes copies, not our God.  You and are are it!

Now that settled, we need to know who we are living for.  If that is unknown, we go around trying to please as is said every Tom, Dick, and Harry.  That leads to enormous stress, because, none of us can ever please everybody. 

Jesus gives us His secret in today's insight scripture.  Here is how the Good New Translation puts it,... "I am not trying to do what I want, but only do what He who sent me wants."  

When you and I learn to please and live for an audience of one, we will find instantly life kind of simplifies, and reduces stress, because we know we are doing what truly pleases the one who created us.

I have often been around those who seem to be a peace like Jesus, don't seemed hurried, frazzled, (not that they do not have issues or troubles), and seem not to fold under the pressure of family, peers, culture, but simply keep on keeping on.  I have asked all of them how they seem to accomplish that.  Here is the answer 100% from all of them,..

I KNOW WHO I AM IN CHRIST!  

Not bad not bad at all.  

So, want to be like Jesus, and handle the stresses of life as He did?  Then know who you are in Him, and who you are living to please, as He did.  The results will be nothing short of amazing.

Are you in Him, do you know Him, are you seeking to live for Him, or yielding to peers, family, and culture.  If you do not know Him you can today, and if you do know Him, we are going to all pray together, right now.
