TIME

James 1:5 -If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Ever heard this saying, burning the candle at both ends?   Sometimes we do not manage our time wisely.  Many opportunities come our way, however we need to know what to do to take advantage of them at the right time.

Here are three steps or suggestions to know how to decide.

1.  Is it worth it?  Is this opportunity worth my time, or the time I need to put into it?  

Is it worth, my energy, my reputation, my effort, my money, my life? Every time we give our time and effort to accomplish something it involves your life.

2.  Will you have to give something up?  What will you have to relinquish to use your time to accomplish this?  If you have a to do list, make sure this is what is mattering most to use your time.  A good way to judge this, is will it also matter the most to God, would He be in favor of you using your time to get it done?  Today's insight verse tells us if we need wisdom in the decision, God will give it to us.

3.. Learn to say "NO".  We at times always want to be people pleasers especially in our fast passed society.  It even is hurting our health.  We need to learn to say "NO".  If we do not we will be using our time inefficiently, and wasting it for too many things.  

I heard a phrase the other day, "Many people have watches, but only wise people have the time."  

So in conclusion, let us ask God to give us wisdom on how to use our time.  Why?  Because we can not take it back once we use it.  Is it worth it?  Will I have to give up something more important?  Do I know or have I learned to say " NO"?  

Then and only then will we know and have the wisdom to use our time to accomplish those things that accomplish what is most important.

Question as we conclude, have you wasted time, putting off asking Christ into your life? 

Honestly, that is something that should be top priority.  If you have why not take the time now to accomplish it?
